When in New York: Places to See + Eat

What we did while in NY and some of our favorite places to experience, both sight-seeing and food :)

New York City is an amazing city filled with so many exciting experiences and incredible places to visit. From the bright lights of Times Square to the beautiful views of Central Park, there is something for everyone in this vibrant metropolis. Under The Red Chandelier was actually there for New York Fashion Week to see Merci Dupre Clothier’s Fashion Launch and their “enviremware” protective spray that helps ward off the negative effects of the environment that can wreak all kinds of havoc on the body of both humans and animals alike. We were beyond excited to see their show and let me just say, I was astonished.

And of course, no trip to New York would be complete without sampling some delicious cuisine. I'm always on the lookout for amazing restaurants and places to visit while I'm here, so here are my favorite picks:

Starting with restaurants, Nobu is a must-visit spot. The Japanese-fusion restaurant is a mecca for foodies, serving up scrumptious dishes like Yellowtail Sashimi jalapeno and Fluke sashimi with truffle sauce. Ned's Club is also a great option. This seafood restaurant offers unique dishes such as lobster mac 'n cheese and clam chowder fries. If you're in a more casual mood, Nolita Pizza has amazing wood-fired pies that will leave you wanting more. Lastly, if Italian fare is what you're craving, I definitely recommend Da Gennaro in Little Italy or La Pecora Bianca for fantastic handmade pasta dishes.

When it comes to places to visit during your stay in New York City, Chelsea's Farmers Market should be at the top of your list! Here you can find everything from freshly baked breads and pastries to organic produce and locally made cheeses—it's heaven for food lovers! The Chase Contemporary Gallery is also another must-visit spot if you're into art; they have rotating exhibitions from both emerging and established artists that are sure to inspire your creative side. Shopping in SoHo has its perks too! Muse Clothing store carries vintage apparel that will give your wardrobe an edgy look while Bergdorf Goodmans provides designer items at very reasonable prices— perfect if you’re looking for something special! Lastly, don't miss out on FIT History Gallery where you can find artifacts dating all the way back to 1856 which show how fashion has evolved over time.
